Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Technical Data Architect) (Data & AI): Building and productionizing customer-facing data, AI, and application solutions on the Databricks platform with an accent on end-to-end architecture, distributed computing, and production delivery. Focus on designing scalable data pipelines and ML/AI integrations, leading technical projects, and solving complex customer challenges across cloud ecosystems.
Location: London, United Kingdom — hybrid. Travel to customers is required 20% of the time.

What you will do
- Build and productionize customer solutions for data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform.
- Own architecture and lead design decisions for secure, scalable end-to-end systems.
- Design and deliver data platforms, ingestion pipelines, custom applications, and ML/AI model integrations.
- Guide customers through architecture, implementation, evaluation, and adoption of Databricks solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, project management, support, and customer teams to deliver technical engagements.
- Create reusable accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across customer accounts.
Requirements
- Experience in data engineering, data platforms and analytics, or software/full-stack engineering.
- Ability to code in Python, Scala, JavaScript, or TypeScript and use modern frameworks.
- Experience with at least one major cloud ecosystem and working knowledge of two or more of AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark, including knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
- Experience with CI/CD, MLOps, ML/AI models, AI APIs, and production end-to-end data architectures.
- Experience delivering technical projects for enterprise customers, managing scope and stakeholders, and communicating complex concepts through documentation and whiteboarding.
