Fiber Blower Technician (Fiber Optic)

What you will do

• Operate fiber optic cable blowing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare job sites, set up conduit paths, assist with pulling tapes, and verify duct integrity.
• Load and unload fiber reels, monitor blowing progress, and ensure accurate cable placement.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of fiber optic cables and equipment.
• Record installed footage, materials used, and completed work.
• Follow safety policies, OSHA regulations, and traffic control procedures while coordinating with foremen, crew members, and supervisors.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in fiber optic installation or utility construction is preferred.
• Familiarity with fiber blowing machines and basic fiber handling practices.
• Ability to read and follow job prints, maps, and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, bend, operate equipment for extended periods, and maintain a flexible work schedule.
