Construction Manager (Fiber/OSP)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota; Conditions also list Dallas, Texas. Requires travel to job sites and field inspections.

Salary: $45–$50 per hour on W-2.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end construction delivery for OSP/ISP fiber, conduit, and supporting infrastructure programs.
• Plan production, sequencing, look-ahead schedules, resource loading, and daily or weekly targets.
• Coordinate with engineering, permitting, design, materials, QA/QC, operations, municipalities, and customers.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors, including work-order compliance, performance, issue resolution, and progress payments.
• Drive site safety, audits, hazard mitigation, damage prevention, traffic control, and utility coordination.
• Verify placement, splicing, testing, restoration, as-builts, documentation, punch-walks, closeout, and turnover.

Requirements

• 5+ years of telecom or utility construction experience with fiber, coax, or conduit, including 2+ years leading crews or contractors.
• Ability to inspect cable and fiber placement, splicing, construction work, and in-home fiber broadband installations.
• Knowledge of OSP/ISP methods, restoration, acceptance testing, engineering work prints, splice diagrams, permits, and ROW documents.
• Experience with contractor oversight, production tracking, unit-based or T&M cost controls, documentation, reporting, and closeout packages.
• Strong safety leadership, field-audit capability, Microsoft Word and Excel skills, and familiarity with scheduling, project, and mobile field-reporting tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel to job sites required.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale FTTH/FTTx, metro or long-haul fiber deployments, and data center interconnects.
• Expertise in OTDR, power meter/light source testing, FTTP standards, GPON, and XGS testing or turn-up.
• OSHA 10/30, PMP/CAPM, FOA CFOT/CFOS, or equivalent certification.
• Degree in a relevant field.
