Senior Telecommunications Equipment Installer and Repairer

Location: Hybrid in Alexandria, Virginia, United States

Salary: $110,000–$130,000 annually

What you will do

• Manage data center operations to maintain high availability, reliability, and compliance with federal standards.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, analyze trends, and mitigate risks affecting mission-critical systems.
• Guide complex hardware installations, structured cabling, power systems, and design validation.
• Develop operational procedures, introduce automation tools, and improve facility efficiency.
• Enforce access controls, lead audits, coordinate outage recovery, and implement corrective actions.
• Forecast resource needs, manage equipment lifecycles, maintain DCIM records, and train junior technicians.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance required.
• High school education and 6–9 years of experience, or equivalent experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher, such as Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, or GSEC.
• Advanced knowledge of UPS systems, power distribution, electrical safety, copper and fiber optic cabling termination, and testing.
• Ability to lead projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, solve problems under pressure, and work non-standard hours, weekends, and on-call rotations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in demanding environments.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard or Department of Homeland Security infrastructure modernization programs.
• Expertise with environmental monitoring tools and DCIM platforms.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing and cabling standards.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or Remedy.
