Piping Engineer (Fabrication)

Location: Asab, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; onsite fabrication role

What you will do

• Review piping isometrics, P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, specifications, and construction work packages.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise pipe cutting, fit-up, welding, spool fabrication, assembly, and dimensional inspections.
• Prepare and review fabrication work packages, material take-offs, bills of materials, and progress reports.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, Planning, and Construction teams to support project execution.
• Monitor NDT, PWHT, hydrotesting, spool release, mechanical completion, and handover activities.
• Resolve fabrication issues, reduce rework and material waste, and support safe delivery against project milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• 7–10 years of piping fabrication experience in Oil & Gas, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, or EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of piping fabrication, welding, NDT, hydrotesting, material control, and international codes and standards.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, isometrics, and fabrication documentation.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead fabrication teams.
