Design Director - Unannounced Project (Game Development)

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Define and drive the project vision in alignment with the Creative Director.
• Direct design teams across missions, narrative, level design, and UX implementation.
• Mediate feature and content review requests across disciplines against mission design capacity.
• Evaluate design work throughout development for clarity, balance, depth, and player comprehension.
• Serve as the primary client interface for specific missions and related content, including co-development, publishing, and product groups.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Design Director, Game Director, or Associate Design Director on a successful PC or console game.
• Strong collaboration experience with narrative, level design, art, and audio teams.
• Leadership and mentoring experience, including managing and developing design teams.
• Ability to establish design quality, structure, communication, feature prioritization, pacing, and mechanical cohesion.

Nice to have

• Experience in mission design and a track record of delivering engaging narrative and gameplay-driven content.
• Interest in innovative player experiences and current game industry trends and best practices.
