Vice Chair of the Freeda Committee (Voluntary position)

hirify.global is an independent domestic abuse charity providing confidential, practical, and emotional support to women and children in Jersey through safehouse and community services.

What you will do

• Support the Chair in leading the Committee and coordinating normally six meetings per year.
• Help the Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer monitor agreed actions, financial sustainability, and effective governance.
• Support strategic planning, organisational goals, annual reporting, and alignment with hirify.global’s mission and values.
• Assist with compliance under the Jersey Charities Commission, Jersey Care Commission, and hirify.global’s Constitution.
• Develop constructive relationships with the Chair, CEO, Committee members, partners, funders, and the community.
• Act as a spokesperson for hirify.global when additional CEO support is required and the Chair is absent.

Requirements

• Experience in leadership or management, governance, strategic oversight, or trustee or committee work.
• Awareness of fundraising and partnership building in the Jersey context.
• Understanding of the causes and effects of violence and abuse against women and girls.
• Knowledge of governance and financial management; knowledge of the Jersey Care Commission or Social Services policies is advantageous.
• Leadership, coordination, strategic thinking, analysis, problem-solving, and independent judgement skills.
