DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid working from the South Melbourne office and home; based in Melbourne, Victoria

What you will do

• Build, operate, and improve AWS infrastructure across EKS, EC2, RDS, Lambda, IAM, S3, and Route 53.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads and the Amazon EKS platform lifecycle, including upgrades, deployments, troubleshooting, and operational stability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Bamboo.
• Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
• Monitor platform performance and availability with New Relic, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Lead P1/P2 production incident response, root cause analysis, on-call support, and preventative reliability improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience in production environments and practical Kubernetes experience, ideally with Amazon EKS.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code capability using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines, plus scripting with Shell, Python, or PowerShell.
• Linux administration experience and sound knowledge of networking, cloud security, IAM, and infrastructure fundamentals.
• Experience supporting highly available, customer-facing, or SaaS platforms, with strong production troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Git, Jira, SonarQube, Veracode, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, GitHub Actions, or Bamboo.
