Computational Genomics Research Scientist (Biotechnology)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid with 3 days per week onsite. An onsite option is also available for 5 days per week, with ad hoc flexibility.

Salary: $112,000–$168,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual bonus and annual equity awards.

What you will do

• Partner with stem cell biology, immunology, gene editing, and pre-clinical research teams to define scientific questions addressable through genomics and bioinformatics.
• Lead the development and application of spatial transcriptomics methods across research teams and sites.
• Analyze and integrate bulk RNA-seq, single-cell, spatial transcriptomics, and other multiomic datasets.
• Perform statistically rigorous computational analyses, visualizations, and interpretation of complex biological data.
• Translate scientific findings into actionable recommendations, study reports, and technical documentation.
• Improve analytical workflows, reproducibility, usability, and robustness with computational and software teams.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, systems biology, biomedical engineering, statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline with 0–3 years of relevant postdoctoral or industry experience; or a related master’s degree with 3+ years of industry experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing, analyzing, visualizing, and interpreting single-cell genomics and spatial transcriptomics experiments.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for scientific computing and data analysis.
• Experience with Linux-based high-performance computing and/or cloud computing environments.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, experimental design, reproducible research, gene editing, molecular biology, and cellular biology.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary research environments.

Nice to have

• Experience evaluating emerging genomics technologies and computational methods.
• Knowledge of best practices for version-controlled and well-documented analytical workflows.
