TL;DR
Engineer - Inspection & Packaging (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing): Ensuring the reliability, lifecycle, and performance of packaging and inspection equipment in a GMP-regulated aseptic drug product facility with an accent on equipment ownership, data trend analysis, maintenance planning, and process improvement. Focus on leading root cause investigations, implementing system changes, supporting validation and CAPA activities, and introducing new products or technologies.

Salary: €55,960.60–€75,711.40 per year

hirify.global Dun Laoghaire operates a 37,000-square-metre aseptic drug product facility specializing in formulation, vial and syringe filling, lyophilisation, and packaging.

What you will do

  • Own and monitor packaging and inspection equipment and systems in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Analyze equipment performance trends and proactively identify reliability, maintenance, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain annual maintenance schedules, coordinate vendor support, and plan critical spare parts procurement.
  • Lead technical root cause analyses, incident investigations, after-action reviews, non-conformance investigations, and CAPA closure.
  • Develop system improvements, engineering specifications, engineering documents, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support new product and technology introductions through engineering assessments, system changes, and engineering runs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electromechanical, and associated automation systems.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis, continuous improvement methodologies, problem solving, and applied engineering practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a production environment, communicate technical information, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with change control, non-conformance, corrective and preventive actions, and validation practices is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Manufacturing experience in medical device or pharmaceutical inspection or packaging.
  • Experience with vendor management and contract negotiations for equipment suppliers.
  • Leadership, technical writing, and communication or presentation experience.
  • Ability to contribute to business-area and engineering or equipment strategy.
