Security Engineer, AI Platforms & Infrastructure (AI)

Location: New York, NY; in-office 4 days per week

Salary: $160,000–$180,000 base salary per year, plus benefits and potential annual discretionary incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Secure and operate the AI gateway connecting users, agents, model providers, and downstream services.
• Review and harden AI agents, Model Context Protocol integrations, and tools against excessive permissions, credential risks, and data exfiltration.
• Define, test, and enforce guardrails for model inputs, outputs, and tool usage.
• Build API-driven automation and support privileged access management and secrets management.
• Secure network and platform traffic through SD-WAN, firewalls, SASE/ZTNA, WAF policies, SSL inspection, and device-posture controls.
• Build logging, telemetry, dashboards, alerts, and health checks integrated with SIEM platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related concentration is preferred.
• At least 5–7 years of relevant technical experience and at least 3 years in information security or cybersecurity engineering are required.
• Hands-on experience securing AI platforms, agent-based systems, authentication, authorization, guardrails, and usage monitoring.
• Experience with MCP, agent frameworks, tool integrations, privileged access management, and secrets management.
• Experience with next-generation firewalls, SASE/ZTNA, WAF, enterprise networking, Linux administration, and endpoint security.
• Ability to automate with Python, Bash, or a similar language and build logging or telemetry pipelines integrated with SIEM platforms.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications in security engineering, cloud security, identity, or AI/ML security.
• Experience with identity platforms and endpoint security tooling.
• Equivalent relevant professional experience in place of the preferred academic concentration.
