Technical BI & Reporting Lead (Power BI)

Location: Bristol, United Kingdom; hybrid working with at least two days per week or 40% of working time at an office site

Salary: £67,000–£81,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead and develop a globally distributed team of Business Intelligence engineers and analysts.
• Own and prioritise the BI and reporting backlog across business-as-usual services and strategic change.
• Provide technical leadership across Power BI, SQL, and cloud-based reporting solutions.
• Review solution designs and promote engineering best practices, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Translate business requirements into delivery priorities and influence decisions across business and technology teams.
• Champion Agile planning, prioritisation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience delivering reporting and analytics solutions with Power BI.
• Expertise in reporting best practices, dashboard optimisation, and performance improvement.
• Experience leading and developing Business Intelligence, reporting, or analytics teams, including geographically distributed teams.
• Strong SQL expertise in large and complex data environments.
• Experience balancing operational services with strategic change delivery.
• Experience with Agile delivery, backlog ownership, planning, prioritisation, and tools such as Jira or Confluence.

• Financial services experience.
• Experience with large-scale data transformation programmes.
• Understanding of data governance and reporting controls.
• Experience with Looker or other cloud-based BI and analytics platforms.
