Senior Manager, Security Operations - Detection Engineering & Incident Response (Cloud Security)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; primarily in-office at the Santa Clara office

Salary: $225,000–$281,000 USD annual base salary, with potential incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Lead and scale global Detection Engineering and Cloud Incident Detection & Response teams.
• Set operational objectives, work plans, SLAs, detection standards, and response strategies across cloud, SaaS, infrastructure, and endpoint environments.
• Build and refine high-signal detections mapped to MITRE ATT&CK, using automated simulations, red and purple team exercises, and threat hunting.
• Oversee ingestion of AWS, Azure, endpoint, network, and SaaS telemetry into SIEM and SOAR pipelines, including automated remediation.
• Direct major incident response, root-cause analysis, executive dashboards, and board-level risk reporting.
• Manage resource allocation, budgets, and professional development for multiple specialized security squads.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and scaling enterprise security operations, detection engineering, and incident response across hybrid cloud and SaaS environments.
• Deep expertise in SIEM, SOAR, EDR, cloud telemetry architectures, and detection-as-code integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of threat-informed defense, MITRE ATT&CK mapping, atomic testing, and threat hunting.
• Experience communicating with executives and aligning security posture with Infrastructure, Engineering, and business priorities.
• Ability to work from the Santa Clara, California office in accordance with company policy.
