Sr. Cybersecurity Analyst

Location: US - Ashburn, VA; at least 3 days per week in the office. The position is performed in an office setting and requires 5–10% travel.

Salary: $131,600–$210,300 USD per year, with potential eligibility for bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Manage cybersecurity incidents through identification, containment, eradication, and post-incident documentation.
• Perform deep-dive analysis of systems, accounts, networks, malware, and attack methods to determine root cause and impact.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and develop detection rules using security monitoring and endpoint tools.
• Collaborate with Cyber Defense, Engineering, and other technology teams during incident response engagements.
• Maintain incident response playbooks and runbooks, identify process improvements, and automate response workflows.
• Review analysts' work for quality and mentor junior analysts in advanced incident response techniques.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, 2+ years with an advanced degree, PhD-level entry qualification, or 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in an enterprise incident response team or Security Operations Center, including direct handling of cybersecurity incidents and response tools.
• Expertise in incident response, threat hunting, malware or intrusion analysis, web application security, or security engineering.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, packet analysis, routing, network security, Windows, Linux, cloud technologies, and security best practices.
• Hands-on knowledge of SIEM, antivirus, WAF, IDS, NetFlow, packet analyzers, and endpoint detection and response tools.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Security certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, GCED, GCFA, or CySA+.
• Additional experience with DDoS mitigation, API attacks, cross-site scripting, cross-site request forgery, SQL injection, and denial-of-service attacks.
