Senior Accountant - Asset Capitalisation

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end asset capitalisation and ensure accurate recognition of capital expenditure.
• Partner with Commercial Finance, software development, Procurement, and Project teams on capital-versus-expense assessments and project accounting.
• Oversee development assets, transfers, disposals, depreciation, reconciliations, and capitalisation journals.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, audit trails, internal controls, and compliance with accounting requirements.
• Lead fixed asset and capital expenditure audit activities and resolve audit queries.
• Improve and standardise finance processes, including automation opportunities, and provide capital expenditure and depreciation reporting.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of financial accounting experience with strong exposure to asset capitalisation, fixed assets, and project accounting.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS/GAAP for property, plant and equipment, intangible assets, and capitalisation policies.
• Experience applying judgement to complex transactions and partnering with non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience in a large, complex, or multinational environment with high volumes of capital expenditure.
• Strong financial controls, audit readiness, organisation, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.
• Qualified accountant with CA, CPA, or equivalent certification; ERP and asset management module experience, including D365, is preferred.
