Engineering Manager (Kubernetes)

Location: Remote-first and limited to candidates residing in Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, or Ukraine.

Salary: Up to €10,000 gross per month, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers while owning product development execution.
• Spend at least half of the role contributing hands-on to product code and the full software development lifecycle.
• Design and architect scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems for thousands of customer Kubernetes clusters.
• Build and maintain infrastructure provisioning and reconciliation across EKS, GKE, AKS, and hirify.global Anywhere.
• Contribute to CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, testing, incident response, and on-call support.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner and stakeholders on requirements, roadmaps, feature design, and customer needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing and leading a technical engineering team.
• Strong software engineering, analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• In-depth Kubernetes knowledge and experience managing multi-cloud environments across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Knowledge of cloud-native infrastructure, APIs, and cloud-provider-specific implementation differences.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience designing and managing GitOps-oriented CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and ArgoCD.
