Software Engineer – Model Based Software Design (MBSD) (Aerospace/MBSD): Reviewing and verifying model-based software designs, requirements, simulations, and test cases for a high-profile aerospace engineering programme with an accent on software assurance, MATLAB/Simulink, and regulated development. Focus on identifying design inconsistencies, supporting verification and validation, and independently assessing software artefacts across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What you will do
- Review High-Level Software Requirements against system-level user requirements.
- Assess model-based software simulations, test cases, software architectures, and design artefacts.
- Support software verification and validation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Identify and document design issues, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with systems, software, and verification engineers on technical reviews and delivery milestones.
Requirements
- Approximately 5–9 years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Experience in aerospace, defence, or another highly regulated engineering environment.
- Strong experience with Model Based Software Design and software requirements, architectures, and design artefacts.
- Strong understanding of software verification and validation processes.
- Excellent knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink, with experience performing technical reviews and independent engineering assessments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field, or equivalent hands-on military experience; willingness and eligibility to obtain BPSS clearance required.
Nice to have
- Experience with complex control system development programmes.
- Knowledge of model-based development lifecycles in safety-critical environments.
- Familiarity with requirements-based engineering and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
