Senior QA and Test Automation Engineer (Web, API, and Database Testing)

Location: Porto, Portugal; hybrid work model. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the European Union.

What you will do

• Define and implement comprehensive test strategies aligned with functional requirements in collaboration with Business Analysts.
• Develop, automate, and execute tests for web applications, REST APIs, databases, and batch processes.
• Build BDD-based test suites using Cucumber/Gherkin and Katalon.
• Validate non-regression suites, monitor anomalies, and report critical gaps using Jira and Xray.
• Maintain test infrastructure and integrate automated testing workflows into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to Agile delivery, UAT, applicative homologation, and continuous improvement of testing practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in QA and test automation, including web, API, and database testing.
• Strong proficiency with Cucumber/Gherkin, Katalon, Groovy, Java, Jira, and Xray.
• Experience with REST API testing, SQL/database management systems, and batch process validation.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins for version control and CI/CD.
• Experience in Agile environments, including UAT and applicative homologation.
• Fluent spoken and written English and an existing legal right to work in the European Union are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Windows Server environments.
• QA or test automation certifications and additional expertise with automation frameworks.
