Junior Data Engineer (Data Platform)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid. Work from home is available on Mondays and Fridays, with in-office collaboration on other weekdays.

What you will do

• Build pragmatic, scalable solutions for complex business and data platform challenges.
• Develop and maintain data-intensive systems that enable fast, iterative analytics.
• Work across Python, SQL, cloud, data warehouse, ETL, infrastructure, and observability technologies.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and engineering teams to gather context, align stakeholders, and deliver work effectively.
• Improve platform reliability, cost efficiency, security, and ways of working through appropriate use of AI tooling.

Requirements

• Solid programming ability in Python or a similar language.
• Strong experience with Snowflake or comparable data warehouses.
• Understanding of software engineering patterns, architectures, and modern data architectures such as Lambda or Kappa.
• Experience building data-intensive systems and working with AWS or another cloud platform.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform, and CI/CD best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, ownership, prioritization, and build-versus-buy decision-making skills.
