Finance Manager (Diagnostics)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; onsite

What you will do

• Manage accounting, finance, and FP&A activities for Japan in a hands-on role.
• Lead accounting and financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closing under US GAAP and J-GAAP.
• Drive budget planning, monthly forecasting, and financial analysis to support business objectives.
• Design and implement SOX controls and assess their operational effectiveness.
• Oversee tax returns, internal audit activities, and day-to-day finance operations.
• Partner with the commercial organization and manage people and organizational activities.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• At least 3 years of people management experience.
• Native-level Japanese is required.
• Strong business writing and clear conversational English are required.
• Experience with SOX.
• Bachelor’s degree or university graduation.

Nice to have

• Official Business Skills Test in Bookkeeping (BOKI), second grade or above.
• Experience working at a foreign-owned company.
