Entry-Level Environmental Chemist - Data Validation

Location: Hybrid in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, or remote within the United States

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annual compensation, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Review environmental laboratory analytical data using US EPA standards, corporate procedures, quality assurance project plans, and published analytical methods.
• Evaluate data quality and usability against defined data quality objectives.
• Prepare data quality and usability assessment reports for peer review by project managers and senior chemistry staff.
• Check chain-of-custody records, field data, laboratory receipt information, and sample-related deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate with project managers, internal colleagues, clients, and client contractors about progress and potential issues.
• Track project hours, meet assigned schedules and budgets, follow safety and confidentiality requirements, and participate in continuous improvement and professional training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or an allied science from an accredited college or university.
• Coursework in analytical chemistry, analytical instrumentation, or environmental chemistry.
• Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles and their application to environmental data usability assessments.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and collaborate with peers.
• Computer proficiency with spreadsheets, correspondence, reports, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.

Nice to have

• At least one year of environmental analytical data validation or laboratory experience.
