Staff Software Engineer - Platform and Cloud Services (AI)

Location: Remote in Canada

Developing a contract lifecycle management product built on a critical cloud platform.

What you will do

• Own core platform domains, canonical data models, service boundaries, and long-term architecture.
• Design and operate AWS-native, event-driven, asynchronous services that scale reliably and efficiently.
• Build secure multi-tenant services with tenant isolation, authentication, authorization, and permission-aware data access.
• Design versioned, high-scale API contracts, including bulk and asynchronous operations, contract testing, and structured error handling.
• Lead major platform initiatives from design through release while improving reliability, observability, performance, security, and developer experience.
• Align product and engineering stakeholders, mentor engineers, and guide architecture across teams without direct authority.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years at staff level.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant computer science, information systems, or engineering field.
• Strong Python experience; Java experience is beneficial.
• Deep experience designing, building, and operating enterprise-grade distributed systems on AWS.
• Experience with data modeling, service architecture, high-throughput or asynchronous processing, ML/inference services, and high-scale APIs.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, observability, application security, multi-tenancy, and excellent written and verbal English communication.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI/ML product features and data pipelines.
• Experience integrating third-party SaaS platforms and connectors.
• Experience with search and retrieval systems.
• Familiarity with contract lifecycle management or comparable enterprise B2B platforms.
