Senior Principal Scientist (Vaccines Analytical Development)

Location: On-premise in Pearl River, New York, United States. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and eligibility.

Annual base salary: $124,400–$207,400, plus a 17.5% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Define analytical control strategies for multiple early-phase vaccine and adjuvant programs.
• Lead and manage a group of scientists, setting priorities, coaching colleagues, and supporting professional development.
• Develop, optimize, qualify, transfer, and manage the lifecycle of separation-based, spectroscopic, mass spectrometry, and other physicochemical analytical methods.
• Resolve complex analytical challenges using experimental design, mechanistic understanding, literature, platform knowledge, and cross-disciplinary input.
• Represent Analytical Development on cross-functional teams and provide data-driven technical recommendations.
• Lead innovation in analytical technologies, AI, automation, digital tools, and data analytics while overseeing technical documentation and regulatory content.

Requirements

• PhD and at least 8 years of relevant experience in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline.
• Advanced expertise in analytical method development and characterization of biologics, vaccines, or complex modalities.
• Experience leading scientific teams, setting priorities, providing technical guidance, coaching talent, and supporting scientific execution.
• Hands-on expertise with separation-based techniques such as liquid chromatography or capillary electrophoresis.
• Experience with method development, qualification, transfer, troubleshooting, and technical documentation across development programs.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States by any employer and hold permanent U.S. work authorization. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of critical quality attributes and analytical control strategies for proteins, mRNAs, adjuvants, or combination vaccines.
• Experience with liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry, orthogonal characterization, multivariate data analysis, or particle characterization.
• Experience with regulatory submissions, laboratory automation, digital workflows, AI, or data-management solutions.
• Scientific innovation demonstrated through platform methods, patents, publications, presentations, or enterprise-wide technical impact.
