Senior Software Engineer (Ads)

Location: Remote in Ontario, Canada. Remote work is available in countries where Reddit has a physical presence.

What you will do

• Design and implement advertising products with product managers.
• Build microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and infrastructure for advertiser-facing products and ad delivery.
• Develop backends for interactive ad experiences such as polls and games.
• Build real-time, data-intensive systems for measuring campaign performance.
• Collaborate with platform and data teams while delivering extensible product components.
• Improve operational stability through code quality initiatives, dashboards, and data visualizations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Java, Scala, Go, C++, or Python.
• Ability to independently own and deliver a complete feature or project.
• Ability to code independently and learn quickly.
• Strong passion for coding, coachability, and independent learning skills.
• Experience with backend systems, APIs, or distributed infrastructure.

Nice to have

• Experience working in the advertising domain.
• Experience or interest in the advertising business and understanding customer needs.
