Senior Scientist, Discovery - Oncology (Pharmacology)

Location: Spring House, Pennsylvania, United States of America; onsite role with occasional weekend, evening, and holiday dosing or animal monitoring.

What you will do

• Design, execute, interpret, and report in vivo pharmacology studies for oncology targets and therapeutic agents.
• Develop and optimize efficacy, mechanism-of-action, PK/PD biomarker, dosing, and scheduling studies across cancer models.
• Lead the adaptation and improvement of research methods and complex preclinical models.
• Contribute to ex vivo analyses using flow cytometry, IHC, ELISA, RT-PCR, and Luminex, as well as bioluminescent imaging studies.
• Manage multiple research programs, coordinate cross-functional and external partners, and present scientific findings.
• Mentor and supervise junior or non-Ph.D. scientists while serving as a scientific resource for project teams.

Requirements

• BS/BA with at least 10 years of relevant experience, MS with at least 7 years, or PhD with 1–3 years of relevant post-graduate experience in life sciences or a related field.
• Required experience with oncology xenograft and syngeneic mouse models, cancer and immune-cell culture, small molecules, and/or biologics.
• Strong skills in tumor implantation, therapeutic dosing, tumor measurement, animal health monitoring, data collection, and analysis.
• Experience managing multiple projects, maintaining detailed records, presenting scientific data, and collaborating with matrixed teams.
• Adherence to animal welfare and regulatory compliance requirements is critical.
• Availability for occasional weekend, evening, and holiday dosing or animal monitoring; some onboarding training may take place at the Spring House site.

Nice to have

• Experience with primary grafts, orthotopic, humanized, or genetically engineered tumor models.
• Experience with immune-modulatory agents, vaccines, CAR-T or other cell therapies.
• Experience with bioluminescent imaging, flow cytometry, IHC, ELISA, RT-PCR, Western blotting, or Luminex.
• Experience mentoring or managing direct reports and preparing technical drafts for patent, IND, or CTA filings.
