IT Systems & Automation Lead (AI)

Location: Chicago, IL or Bolingbrook, IL; onsite ownership of the Bolingbrook office and warehouse, with support for Oakland

What you will do

• Own day-to-day internal IT support across Mac and Windows devices, accounts, applications, authentication, peripherals, and connectivity.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding, device fleets, MDM/RMM, patching, encryption, endpoint protection, software deployment, inventory, and equipment lifecycle.
• Administer Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, 1Password, Microsoft 365, Apple Business Manager, VPN, SaaS applications, permissions, licenses, MFA, and SSO.
• Own onsite office and warehouse technology, including internet, Wi-Fi, networking, conference rooms, AV, displays, printers, badge access, and security cameras.
• Build AI-, API-, script-, integration-, and low-code/no-code automation for provisioning, support, inventory, documentation, reporting, and other repetitive workflows.
• Coordinate managed IT and security partners, support endpoint security and incident response, maintain baseline controls, and contribute to SOC 2 compliance.

Requirements

• Ability to work onsite with physical equipment in the Chicago or Bolingbrook area and troubleshoot office and warehouse technology.
• Approximately 3–7 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, technical support, security operations, or a similar hands-on technology environment.
• Hands-on experience with Mac and Windows environments, endpoint management, identity and access management, SaaS administration, and basic networking.
• Ability to automate work using scripting, APIs, AI agents, integrations, or low-code/no-code tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, research, organization, responsiveness, ownership, and follow-through.
• Active use of modern AI tools and enthusiasm for connecting AI to real systems and workflows.

Nice to have

• Startup or physical operating environment experience.
• Experience with Google Workspace, MDM/RMM, EDR, identity systems, SOC 2, MSP management, office networking, or physical-security systems.
• Experience building scripts, bots, internal tools, integrations, or AI agents.
• Home labs, side projects, GitHub repositories, Raspberry Pi projects, or similar hands-on technology experimentation.
