Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Hybrid in Tres Ríos, Cartago, Costa Rica

What you will do

• Maintain financial records by calculating, posting, and verifying transactions.
• Support accounts payable, payroll, travel and expense processing, costing, and related accounting activities.
• Assist with financial statements, budget reports, and management reporting.
• Review and reconcile financial information for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform basic financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and process improvement opportunities.
• Organize accounting documentation and collaborate with internal teams on reporting requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management.
• Ability to perform data entry and maintain financial records.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Effective written and verbal communication and ability to work independently with guidance.

Nice to have

• Internship, coursework, or experience in accounting or finance.
• Familiarity with accounting software or enterprise financial systems.
• Knowledge of accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, or expense management processes.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and learning new systems quickly.
