What you will do
- Analyze financial data and prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, accounting schedules, and management reports.
- Maintain company accounts, journals, ledgers, financial records, and accounting-system data.
- Support customers, business partners, external accountants, and corporate audit with complex accounting analysis.
- Develop standard operating procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley internal control documentation.
- Lead continuous improvement projects, maintain relationships with serviced groups, and support the month-end close and local statutory analytical reviews.
- Support acquisitions, divestitures, special projects, and initiatives beyond the core role.
Requirements
- High school diploma with 8+ years of experience, associate’s degree with 6+ years, BA/BS with 2+ years, or MBA/MS with relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and multinational accounting operations.
- Accounting experience with strong analytical, critical-thinking, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work on premise in Escazú, Costa Rica.
Nice to have
- Pharmaceutical or public accounting experience.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning and Edge systems.
- Proficiency in Tableau and advanced system applications and products.
- Experience collaborating within a team environment.
- Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, including responsible AI, risk management, and ethical-use practices.
