Senior System Test Engineer - Simulation (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Remote within the US, Blacksburg, Virginia, or Ann Arbor, Michigan

Salary: $153,200–$183,800 USD per year

What you will do

• Own system-level simulation testing for autonomous driving software, including perception and autonomous vehicle behavior.
• Plan and execute simulation test campaigns for autonomous vehicle verification and validation.
• Develop V&V simulation strategies with Product, Systems, and Safety teams.
• Maintain and improve the scenario library across Abstract, Logical, and Concrete scenarios to expand operational design domain coverage.
• Identify testing gaps and coordinate improvements to simulation environments, test frameworks, and virtual testing toolchains.
• Analyze and triage simulation results, creating dashboards and reports for stakeholders.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US for the remote option, or work from Blacksburg, VA, or Ann Arbor, MI.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field with 6+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience with virtual testing and simulation of perception and autonomous vehicle behavior.
• Experience developing scenarios compliant with the ASM OpenScenario standard, especially Abstract and/or Logical Scenarios.
• Experience developing test cases and procedures, troubleshooting systems, isolating faults, and performing system-level analysis.
• Proficiency with Python, YAML scripting, Linux, basic probability, and linear algebra.

Nice to have

• Automotive or similar testing and validation experience.
• Experience developing and validating sensor, traffic vehicle, or vehicle dynamics models.
• Experience with ROS.
• Ability to mentor lower-level engineers.
