Project Engineering Manager

Location: Charlotte, NC, with travel to plants in the US and Canada; travel required 50–70% of the time

Salary: $105,100–$147,100 annually

What you will do

• Develop and execute capital projects for baking and packaging processes, products, and equipment.
• Create project plans, budgets, capital requests, equipment specifications, and vendor proposals.
• Manage vendor selection, construction, installation, change control, troubleshooting, and training.
• Deliver projects on time and within budget while meeting design criteria.
• Support plant teams with root-cause analysis, equipment performance improvement, troubleshooting, and operating parameter development.
• Develop capacity plans and recommend solutions for production shortfalls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 5–7 years of engineering experience and a track record of managing multiple projects on time and within budget.
• Experience improving existing equipment performance and managing projects involving more than $1 million in assets.
• Experience creating and interpreting AutoCAD drawings and using Microsoft Office Project to track project status.
• Strong written and oral communication, negotiation, prioritization, and influencing skills.
• Willingness to travel 50–70% and travel to plants throughout the US and Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience in the food, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industries.
• Controls systems experience with PLCs, drives, VFDs, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, or other comparable brands.
