JJV Contact Lens Process Engineering Director (MedTech): Leading the global process engineering strategy for contact lens manufacturing across Jacksonville and Limerick with an accent on process capability, manufacturing robustness, technology transfer, and compliant scalability. Focus on harmonizing engineering standards, developing technical leaders, managing validation and risk, and driving data-based continuous improvement across regulated manufacturing sites.

Location: Limerick, Ireland, or Jacksonville, Florida, United States; up to 25% domestic and international travel may be required.

Base pay: €104,000–€179,515 per year, plus an annual bonus and benefits.

What you will do

  • Set the global process engineering strategy, priorities, operating model, governance, and technical roadmap for contact lens manufacturing in Jacksonville and Limerick.
  • Harmonize engineering standards, skills, tools, processes, and ways of working across global manufacturing sites.
  • Build and develop a high-performing engineering organization through mentoring, succession planning, technical career development, and capability building.
  • Partner with R&D, Operations, Quality, MAKE Engineering, and other stakeholders on engineering readiness, technology transfers, risk management, and strategic programs.
  • Lead process characterization, validation, FMEA, troubleshooting, data analytics, lifecycle management, and structured problem solving.
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, compliance, and timely correction of process risks and deviations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering or a related technical field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 12 years of relevant experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Technical Development, R&D, or Quality.
  • At least 8 years of people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, talent development, succession planning, and organizational capability building.
  • Experience setting strategy and leading cross-site or global technical teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, regulated manufacturing, process and equipment validation, process characterization, FMEA, risk management, and disciplined engineering practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, decision-making, project leadership, and change management skills.

Nice to have

  • Medical device or pharmaceutical experience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • FPX or PMP certification.
