NPI & LCM Principal Engineer (MedTech)

Location: Hybrid position based in Irvine, California, United States; business travel of up to 20% required.

Base pay: $102,000–$177,100 per year.

What you will do

• Provide strategic technical leadership across new product development, design transfer, commercialization, and lifecycle management.
• Lead cross-functional engineering projects connecting R&D and Supply Chain.
• Develop scalable manufacturing solutions through design for manufacturability, product and process characterization, tooling, equipment, and production test methods.
• Plan and execute equipment qualification and process validation activities, including IQ, OQ, PQ, and APQ.
• Resolve complex mechanical and electrical assembly challenges and optimize yield using Process Excellence methods.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives, supervise technical work, mentor engineers, and communicate risks and recommendations to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, biomedical engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 6–8+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated mastery of engineering theory, practical applications, and experimental techniques.
• Proficiency with Minitab or comparable statistical software.
• Strong business, financial, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of project management tools and processes, with the ability to prioritize competing requests and recommend alternatives.
• Ability to travel up to 20% for business.

Nice to have

• Experience presenting to senior management.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD software.
• Project management experience.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or other Process Excellence certification.
