Sr. Manager, Data Protection

What you will do

• Execute the enterprise Data Protection strategy, roadmap, governance model, policies, and operating procedures.
• Lead data security initiatives covering classification, labeling, discovery, inventory, DLP, insider risk, encryption, and tokenization.
• Protect sensitive data across endpoints, cloud platforms, SaaS applications, collaboration tools, email, and enterprise repositories.
• Lead privacy incident response operations and partner with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Security Operations, and Insider Risk teams.
• Oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments, regulatory assessments, data-flow analysis, security-control evaluations, risk registers, and remediation tracking.
• Provide executive reporting and drive transformation through analytics, automation, emerging technologies, and AI-enabled capabilities.

Requirements

• Onsite work at a Huntington corporate office is required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 7+ years leading Data Protection and/or Data Privacy programs.
• At least 2 years leading privacy event response and notification activities.
• Deep experience implementing and managing enterprise Data Protection solutions and controls, including DLP platforms.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, strategic leadership, and regulatory risk-management skills.
• Experience with data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and financial-industry privacy requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud-first security programs, Microsoft Purview, Insider Risk Management, Defender Suite, or similar technologies.
• CISSP, CISM, CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CRISC certification.
• Hands-on and leadership experience designing, implementing, administering, and supporting cybersecurity and data protection technologies.
• Master’s degree or education in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, MIS, networking, or a related STEM discipline.
