Senior Computer Vision Engineer (Edge AI)

Location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada; flexible hybrid work model

Salary: CAD 104,400–135,700 annual base salary

What you will do

• Design, implement, and validate deep learning architectures for real-time edge computer vision, including detection, segmentation, tracking, scene understanding, and sensor fusion.
• Improve code structure, training frameworks, deployment pipelines, testability, robustness, and maintainability.
• Optimize models for accuracy and ultra-low-latency execution using quantization, pruning, and knowledge distillation.
• Build model monitoring tools and CI/CD pipelines for reliable field deployment and updates.
• Investigate training failures, inference bottlenecks, and live performance issues while owning complex technical projects.
• Collaborate with technical leads, camera software engineers, platform developers, product managers, and internal partners; mentor engineers and participate in technical interviews.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of relevant industry experience and 5+ years of applied machine learning experience.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree/diploma in computer science, software or electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
• Advanced hands-on proficiency in Python, C++, and deep learning frameworks including PyTorch, TensorFlow, and OpenCV.
• Experience with edge deployment libraries such as ONNX Runtime, OpenVINO, and CoreML.
• Knowledge of embedded accelerators and hardware architectures including Ambarella CVFlow, Qualcomm SNPE, and NVIDIA Jetson.
• Strong computer vision, machine learning, analytical, communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
