SOC Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote role open to eligible candidates in Canada or the Continental US; occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

Salary: $75,000–$96,309 CAD per year for candidates in Canada.

What you will do

• Monitor SIEM and other security platforms for suspicious or anomalous activity.
• Investigate, classify, correlate, and prioritize security alerts while eliminating false positives.
• Respond to incidents using established playbooks and collaborate with internal stakeholders on threat mitigation.
• Create, maintain, and improve incident response playbooks, policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Support vulnerability management, forensic investigations, evidence collection, and detailed incident reporting.
• Tune monitoring systems and detection rules, identify coverage gaps, and implement enhancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information security, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in cybersecurity and experience with security operations center processes.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM management, vulnerability scanners, and XDR tools.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and related protocols.
• Experience documenting and maintaining processes and procedures; strong communication and client-focused collaboration skills.
• Ability to work remotely from Canada or the Continental US and travel occasionally domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• GSEC, GCIH, CompTIA, BTL1, BTL2, or relevant cybersecurity vendor certification.
• Knowledge of the ITIL framework.
