Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Boston-based hybrid; in office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with remote work Monday and Friday. Applicants must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Partner with a Product Manager to understand customer problems, shape technical solutions, and iterate quickly.
• Build and ship product functionality while remaining hands-on with production code.
• Own technical quality across architecture, code review, testing, monitoring, rollback planning, and technical guidance.
• Apply AI-native development practices and evaluate when LLMs are appropriate.
• Set engineering standards and help grow the team as the product scales.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production systems, including strong backend architecture experience.
• Experience shipping production SaaS software end-to-end.
• Strong product sense, customer orientation, ownership, and judgment in balancing speed, robustness, and simplicity.
• Comfort working across the stack, including frontend, infrastructure, or tooling.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Experience with Python, Django, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, Vue, AWS, or similar technologies.

• Experience leading a team or major technical project.
• Experience mentoring engineers and reviewing others' work.
• Experience shipping AI-powered features.
• Ability to provide technical direction through architecture, code quality, delivery standards, and clear tradeoffs.
