TL;DR
Mechanical Engineer (Consumer Electronics) (Creo/AutoCAD): Developing production-ready mechanical designs for next-generation portable consumer electronics with an accent on plastic and metal structures, CAD modeling, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturing. Focus on validating tooling and production processes, collaborating with suppliers, and supporting reliability testing for high-quality consumer devices.
Location: Kobo Taiwan, Taipei; hybrid remote working environment

What you will do
- Develop mechanical architectures and assess design feasibility from concept through manufacturing.
- Design plastic, metal, and soft-good components for consumer electronics, telecom, and accessory products.
- Create and maintain high-precision 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using PTC Creo and AutoCAD.
- Perform tolerance analysis and stack-up validation to improve assembly yields.
- Collaborate with suppliers on engineering specifications, DFM standards, tooling trials, and production processes.
- Support engineering validation, reliability testing, injection molding, alloy production, and post-processing activities at vendor facilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 1–3 years of mechanical engineering experience; consumer electronics internship experience is valued.
- Strong proficiency in PTC Creo (Pro-E) and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of plastic and metal structural design, general manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, and GD&T.
- Proactive self-management skills and comfort with regular travel and a remote-first working environment.
- Chinese: fluent; English: intermediate proficiency in listening, writing, and speaking.
Nice to have
- Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS or COMSOL.
- Experience developing IPX-8 waterproofing solutions using mechanical or chemical coatings.
