Lead Industrial Designer (Fixed-Term Contract)

Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan; occasional national and international travel required.

What you will do

• Create design visions, concepts, sketches, illustrations, renderings, 3D CAD designs, prototypes, and mockups.
• Contribute to conceptual, strategic, and tactical phases of the design process, from user research through delivery.
• Lead projects and coordinate the activities of other designers as required.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, business stakeholders, and external partners.
• Communicate design intent through presentations, images, and videos, and influence product decisions.
• Represent design policies, plans, and objectives across the organization.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant experience in Industrial Design or Mechanical Product Design Engineering.
• Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Compelling design portfolio demonstrating strong and forward-thinking design skills; an updated portfolio link must be submitted.
• Strong skills in ideation, concept visualization, form development, CAD, model making, and rapid prototyping.
• Experience defining materials, colors, and finishes; optimizing designs for manufacturing; and reviewing prototypes, EVT, and DVT builds.
• Autonomous, collaborative, humble, and open to feedback and learning.
