Technical Mobile Engineering Manager (ML)

Location: Vienna, Austria; flexible working hours and home office policy, with approximately 10% travel required.

Salary: minimum gross EUR 3,843 per month, with a higher offer depending on experience.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a group of mobile engineers, including performance reviews, career planning, hiring, and staffing.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for mobile architecture, development, optimization, coding standards, testing, and deployment.
• Drive quality practices, including code reviews, testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, analytics, stability, and user experience improvements.
• Plan and deliver complex mobile development initiatives within agreed timelines and budgets while managing risks.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, regulatory affairs, quality, clinical teams, and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to mobile strategy, innovation, knowledge sharing, and regulated Software as a Medical Device releases.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on mobile development experience and strong understanding of system architecture.
• Experience running high-performance on-device ML models in production.
• Experience designing reusable modular components for multi-app ecosystems.
• Experience mentoring engineering teams and balancing technical leadership with people management.
• Track record of delivering complex mobile projects on time, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Availability to work from Vienna and travel approximately 10% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated environments, including SaMD or medical device software.
• Knowledge of IEC 62304, MDR, or FDA guidelines.
