Community Engagement Specialist II (Transportation)

Location: Hybrid in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with three days per week in the office. In-person Day 1 onboarding at an hirify.global office is required. Relocation is not offered.

Salary: USD 65,000–85,000 per year

What you will do

• Collaborate with project managers to develop stakeholder engagement strategies, outreach plans, and risk mitigation approaches.
• Identify and map stakeholders and community profiles for transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Develop messaging, presentations, graphics, layouts, press releases, social media content, websites, newsletters, fact sheets, and stakeholder communications.
• Engage residents, communities, public agencies, elected representatives, media, and technical groups through written, virtual, and in-person communications.
• Plan and execute public meetings and outreach events, including logistics, venues, vendors, and materials.
• Develop surveys, monitor communication channels, analyze feedback, and prepare engagement reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field, plus at least two years of public relations or related communications experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in the Milwaukee office three days per week.
• Visa sponsorship is not offered now or in the future.
• Experience with or willingness to learn tools for virtual collaboration and stakeholder communication.

Nice to have

• Four or more years of experience in communications, community engagement, or stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in transportation, engineering, or infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Adobe tools and preparing graphics and layouts.
• English-Spanish bilingual skills with experience translating collateral materials.
