Location: 11-week onsite internship in the United States, primarily in Lake County, Illinois, with possible placement at another U.S. AbbVie or Allergan Aesthetics location. Location preferences may be considered, but placement depends on business needs.
Salary: $21–$37 per hour

What you will do
- Design, build, test, and maintain enterprise applications across front-end, back-end, and full-stack environments.
- Develop responsive user interfaces and backend services, APIs, and microservices using technologies including Java and Spring Boot.
- Implement server-side logic, workflows, data pipelines, and performance improvements.
- Design and optimize databases, data infrastructure, data integration, data warehousing, and visualization solutions.
- Collect, process, store, and integrate data securely to support analytics and data science.
- Develop technology solutions that address scientific and business questions.
Requirements
- Must be available for an 11-week onsite internship in the United States.
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI, or a related major with a relevant minor or concentration.
- Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Must remain enrolled in university during the semester following the internship and graduate within one year after the internship.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, adaptability, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with Java, Python, R, SQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, Vue.js, HTML, APEX, or APIs.
- Experience with data integration, data warehousing, data visualization, public code repositories, or project management.
- Experience applying generative AI, large language models, or machine learning algorithms.
- Previous internship or related professional experience.
