Robotics Developer (ROS)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; hybrid work. Candidates must be residents of the EU or hold an EU work permit and permanent residency.

Novanta develops engineered components and subsystems for healthcare, advanced manufacturing, robotics, and other mission-critical applications; the role is part of Keonn, a Novanta company that manufactures RFID hardware and software.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and test robotic systems and applications.
• Develop software for robot control, perception, navigation, and user interfaces.
• Integrate hardware, software, and control systems across interdisciplinary robotics projects.
• Manage robotics hardware and maintain stock.
• Run simulations and real-world tests to validate system performance.
• Troubleshoot and optimize robotic behavior across different environments.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience with ROS and autonomous mobile robotics.
• Fluent development skills in Python or C++ and strong knowledge of ROS.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• EU residency or an EU work permit and permanent residency required.
• Fluent English required.
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, independence, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge and experience with RFID technology.
• Frontend development experience with Vue.
• Spanish language skills.
