Software Dev Engineer Embedded Development (AI/ML)

hirify.global develops customer-facing products and services; the role is part of Ring’s Video Streaming Quality team within the Madrid Tech Hub.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate scalable cloud-native services and microservices.
• Build resilient, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective distributed systems.
• Improve video and audio streaming quality, observability, encoding, and next-generation codec performance.
• Develop and optimize real-time ML/AI inference on embedded devices and in the cloud.
• Implement and maintain FFmpeg-based transcoding pipelines and streaming solutions using WebRTC.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, CI/CD, monitoring, troubleshooting, and on-call operations.

Requirements

• Experience with video and image processing, compression algorithms and standards, computer vision, and/or machine learning.
• Programming experience with Python, Java, or C++.
• Knowledge of cloud computing and cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
• Knowledge of data structures, basic algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant STEM field, or expected graduation by November 2026; graduates from the last 24 months are also considered.
• English-language communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with video encoding and streaming media standards.
• Experience with on-device embedded or resource-constrained hardware.
• Experience with AI development tools, databases, open-source projects, version control, debugging, or troubleshooting complex systems.
• Previous technical internships or relevant project experience.
