Senior Software Engineer (Cloud/IoT): Designing and scaling cloud-enabled software and hardware products for wire harness design and manufacturing with an accent on distributed systems, multi-tenant AWS applications, and real-time cloud-to-hardware interactions. Focus on high-availability architecture, failure mode analysis, mentoring engineers, and delivering reliable solutions across cross-functional teams.
Location: Framingham, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote

What you will do
- Design and architect cloud-centric software and hardware products for wire harness design and manufacturing.
- Build and scale high-performance multi-tenant applications with real-time interactions between cloud services and customer-site hardware.
- Lead design reviews, failure mode analyses, and architectural trade-off analyses to improve product availability and reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence in system design, validation, and documentation.
- Contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and wider agile planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and applications engineers to define requirements and deliver solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, plus relevant professional experience.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems and cloud-connected applications in AWS.
- Experience with Python, web frameworks such as FastAPI and Nuxt, and distributed task management with Celery.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
Nice to have
- Experience with high-availability hardware-software systems, including IoT, embedded systems, or edge computing.
- Experience with MQTT and multi-tenant AWS deployments.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and CI/CD practices.
- Experience working with international teams across multiple time zones.
