TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (AI): Building and modernising TOPdesk's customer-facing Knowledge Base across the UI and backend with an accent on agentic development, legacy platform decomposition, and production reliability. Focus on orchestrating coding agents, designing verification and evaluation workflows, and delivering maintainable changes across Python, TypeScript/Vue, Java, Postgres, Azure, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
Location: Hybrid in Delft, Netherlands; Budapest, Hungary; or Kaiserslautern, Germany. Elsewhere in Europe may be considered with regular in-person presence at one of the hubs.

What you will do
- Build and modernise the customer-facing Knowledge Base across the user interface and backend.
- Frame problems, orchestrate coding agents, and verify production-ready implementations.
- Develop agentic product capabilities and modernise the legacy Java/MS SQL platform using Python, TypeScript, Vue, Azure, and related technologies.
- Define implementation briefs, acceptance criteria, tests, runtime checks, migration validation, observability, and rollback plans.
- Review agent-generated changes for architectural quality, security, maintainability, and operational safety.
- Contribute reusable prompts, subagents, evaluations, and agent libraries while coaching colleagues.
Requirements
- Strong production engineering experience with current, daily hands-on agentic delivery practice using Claude Code, Cursor, Aider, or an equivalent tool.
- Experience with at least one of Python, TypeScript/Vue, Java, Postgres, Azure-hosted systems, or Terraform.
- Strong testing instincts, operational awareness, and independent software-engineering judgment.
- Ability to identify agent-generated solutions that are architecturally wrong, unsafe, or unnecessarily complex.
- Comfort working in ambiguous environments and legacy codebases, with strong written communication.
- Willingness to work hybrid and attend the selected engineering hub regularly.
Nice to have
- Experience modernising or decomposing a heritage platform in production.
- Experience building reusable prompts, subagents, evaluations, or CLAUDE.md conventions.
- Hands-on experience with MCP integrations or multi-agent workflows.
- Depth across multiple technology stacks.
