Application Engineer II (Python/Azure)

What you will do

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implement backend business services in Python and PySpark.
• Design and build data transformation services and data flows for financial accounting and reporting.
• Develop applications on Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Delta Lake.
• Own functional and non-functional implementation, including performance, reliability, availability, maintainability, and test automation.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, product owners, and stakeholders through design reviews, peer reviews, and requirements discussions.
• Apply Agile Scrum and DevOps practices and support production operations during quarterly closing cycles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or an equivalent quantitative field.
• 6+ years of experience designing and implementing reliable, scalable software across the full development lifecycle.
• Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL, with experience in test-driven development, unit testing, and integration testing.
• Experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Delta Lake, Terraform, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL and integration technologies including REST and SOAP APIs.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and continuous-learning skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
