Data Analyst (SQL/Databricks/Power BI)

Location: Leicestershire, United Kingdom; fully office-based with attendance five days a week

What you will do

• Query, transform, analyse, optimise, and debug complex operational and financial datasets using SQL/T-SQL.
• Use Databricks to investigate retail and stock operations and produce actionable insights.
• Develop Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions, including data models and DAX.
• Maintain data quality, validation, governance, and trusted reporting processes.
• Define KPIs and reporting requirements with Finance and operational stakeholders.
• Deliver variance analysis, ad-hoc reporting, and recommendations that support business decisions.

Requirements

• Advanced SQL/T-SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
• Experience creating reliable, scalable data solutions for reporting and analytical use.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to own solutions from requirements through delivery and explain complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in a large-scale operational environment.
• Must be based in Leicestershire and attend the office five days per week.

Nice to have

• Python experience for data manipulation and scripting.
• Hands-on Databricks experience, including notebooks, data modelling, Workflows/Jobs, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Power BI development experience, including dashboard design, data modelling, and DAX.
• Experience with data governance and quality frameworks.
• Experience in Finance, Retail, Supply Chain, or a similar operational environment.
