TL;DR
Modeling Artists (Mid & Senior) (Maya/3D assets): Creating optimized 3D characters, sets, vehicles, props, and organic and hard-surface elements for a premium Marvel Animation streaming series with an accent on detailed form, efficient topology, and production-ready asset quality. Focus on solving pipeline issues with Rigging and Surfacing, optimizing complex hero assets, meeting production deadlines, and mentoring junior artists at the Senior level.
Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada; flexible hybrid schedule
Salary: CAD 70,000–85,000 annually, based on experience and skills

What you will do
- Create characters, sets, props, vehicles, and organic and hard-surface assets from production designs.
- Analyze pre-visualization and production designs to build optimized, production-ready 3D assets.
- Use Maya tools to model efficiently and maintain clean assets throughout the pipeline.
- Collaborate with Rigging and Surfacing to identify and resolve pipeline issues before they become bottlenecks.
- Meet team and production deadlines and participate in team, departmental, and production meetings or screenings.
- At the Senior level, mentor and guide junior artists.
Requirements
- Legally eligible to work in British Columbia, Canada.
- Mid-level: 3–5+ years of production experience; Senior: 5+ years of production experience.
- Strong understanding of form, shape, and texture with flexible creative thinking.
- Professional experience with Maya, ZBrush, and Photoshop.
- Learning-centered mindset and passion for strong design and technical execution.
Nice to have
- Experience with Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Blender, or Redshift.
- Comfort working with a Linux operating system.
