Senior Project Engineer (Biopharmaceutical)

Location: Troy, New York, United States; on-site Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; up to 25% domestic and international travel

Salary: $88,300–$143,900 annually

What you will do

• Design and specify cGMP process equipment, piping, controls, and clean utility systems.
• Manage small- to mid-sized engineering projects, including start-up and commissioning.
• Lead design reviews, site acceptance, equipment installation, and support for contract manufacturing facilities.
• Prepare P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams, engineering documentation, change controls, and test plans.
• Support QA and Validation with design documents and protocol execution.
• Investigate equipment, utility, control-system, and safety incidents; implement corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of project or process engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Solid understanding of process control systems, automation, cGMP documentation, and sanitary equipment design.
• Experience planning and tracking project activities and schedules.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, including the ability to lead without direct authority.
• Ability to work on-site in Troy, New York, wear full cleanroom attire, and comply with cleanroom requirements regarding jewelry, makeup, and nail adornments.

• Direct experience with biopharmaceutical process equipment.
• Experience supervising mechanical, electrical, and automation contractors.
• Experience procuring equipment and related services and negotiating with suppliers.
