Engineer (Mechanical Design) (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Develop, test, and document mechanical designs for transport mechanisms, vacuum systems, process stations, deposition chambers, and substrate heating, cooling, and cleaning systems.
• Own technical assignments involving the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
• Create initial concepts and detailed product designs, including 3D solid models and production-ready engineering drawings.
• Participate in design reviews and apply design for manufacturability, design for assembly, reliability, and serviceability principles.
• Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and deliver parts and assemblies.
• Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, verification, validation, and production transitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software, including solid modeling and production-ready drawings.
• Experience across feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed design, design reviews, verification, validation, and production realization.
• Knowledge of engineering change control, including ECOs, ECNs, and manufacturing-quality documentation release.
• Experience designing dynamic electromechanical systems or precision mechanical equipment and applying DFM and DFA principles.
• Experience working with vendors or fabrication partners; high-vacuum system design and heat-transfer experience are advantageous.
